SURPASSING PREVIOUS ENERGY EFFICIENCY LEVELS
The ‘Variable Speed Drive’ (VSD) air compressors take advantage of the latest advancements in technology. Rather than run at a continuous fixed speed, the VSD series automatically adjust their motor speed to meet end-use demand. This has been a game-changer in the industry with outstanding results. With the 3rd generation VSDs Atlas Copco has succeeded once again in significantly reducing energy use in air compressor operation.

SMART TECHNOLOGY INCLUDED
Additional innovative technologies include the Smart Temperature Control (STC) system that maintains optimal oil temperature and injection in the VSDs’s oil-cooled motor. The high-tech Elektronikon Touch controller is easy to use with clear warning indications and useful maintenance scheduling notifications. SMARTLINK remote monitoring and analysis software permits operational optimisation, providing finger-tip control over output and power usage wherever you are.
Connected data-monitoring with customisable reporting provides insights covering uptime, energy efficiency and the general health of the installation. On a proactive and preventative level, SMARTLINK can even identify problems and prompt you to take action.
DEVELOPMENTS IN SUSTAINABILITY
Atlas Copco has also further addressed environmental concerns and demands for sustainability in the VSDs models. They have minimised the number of components used in manufacture to reduce material usage, and no rare earth elements are used in the FASR (ferrite-assisted synchronous reluctance) motor preserving precious resources. The motor meets IE5 standards and exceeds IES2 (EN 50598) requirements, achieving the highest ratings.

It doesn’t stop there. Atlas Copco have looked at every angle to find improvements that add up to better efficiency and performance. Intelligent no-loss drains automatically remove condensate to keep compressed air loss to a minimum. A specially designed inlet filter minimises air pressure drop and VSD fans run at variable speed with low vibration and noise. All encapsulated in a conveniently small footprint.
AND A BOOST…
The new Boost Flow Mode is a clever new feature that allows the compressors to temporarily and safely exceed their maximum capacity. This welcome development provides a boost of extra power in the short term when needed, without compromising air pressure or damaging the system, preventing costly production shut downs. Boost Flow Mode self-activates when required and if safe to do so – it monitors humidity/temperature/voltage. A notification is sent to alert you to the activity to allow monitoring and future analysis.
